Mr. Dieter, Of Counsel to the firm, has had extensive experience as senior in-house counsel for a major chemical company (Spencer Chemical); a multinational, integrated oil company and its subsidiaries (Gulf Oil); and a multinational engineering and construction group of companies (Bechtel). He also acted for many years as Legal Counsel for Catalytic Distillation Technologies, an international refinery/petrochemical process development and licensing company. Mr. Dieter is both a graduate chemical engineer and a lawyer, and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court. He is versed in intellectual property law and antitrust law as well as engineering and construction law, and has negotiated numerous substantial international project agreements. He is also experienced in general corporate and commercial law. Mr. Dieter received a chemical engineering degree from Kansas State University in 1949, a law degree from George Washington University in 1953, and a Masters of Business Administration degree from Missouri University in 1960. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the State Bar of California, the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the Houston Bar Association.
